A lifelong musician, I began studying piano at the age of 7 with Miss Diamond, a very old, but kind, piano teacher who taught on an upright piano in the parlor of her home. I have had several piano teachers since then, but you never forget your first teacher.
My professional career began in 1995 as a church musician and I began teaching in 1998.
I believe that a teacher is not just a teacher, but also a lifelong learner. I have continued professional development in piano by completing courses and attending workshops through Berklee College of Music. I love to exchange ideas with fellow teachers and learn new things in order to give my students the most up-to-date information possible.
Raising 5 children and having 11 grandchildren has given me the experience to enjoy and understand lots of personality and learning styles.
I teach ages 6 – 106; beginners – early advanced level.
My greatest joy is helping students develop their own love for music ~ one that will last a lifetime!
